Fall Color In Oregon, Utah, Washington & Alaska
The fall colors in Oregon, Utah, Washington and Alaska are different from those in Colorado. Utah has pinks and reds that simply do not exist in Colorado. Utah also has the brilliant yellows of the Cottonwood trees against the red rock, which is spectacular. Every year I am chomping at the bit for fall to arrive.
Autumn is commonly referred to as the Fall Season and initiates the transition from Summer to Winter. The temperatures are mild and cool, the rain storms have subsided and it is a wonderful time to be out and about. For Landscape and Nature Photography, The arrival of Fall Color make it my favorite time of year to photograph.
Fall begins early in Alaska in late August and moves on to late September in Wyoming and Colorado. Mid-October is the time to be in central Washington and then its on to early November for Utah. You could easily spend over two months chasing the fall colors around in the West.
