Shipwreck
Kaktovik, Alaska

There is just something that is nautically romantic about shipwrecks. It's hard to explain, but it is there.
I was on the north coast of Alaska in Kaktovik to photograph polar bears. Just after sunrise one morning, while driving around looking for the bears, I stopped to photograph this old shipwreck. The reflection, coupled with the subdued blues and snow-capped mountains in the background, brought it all together.
