Guide to Purchasing Nature Photography Prints

Will My Print Be Unique?

Yes. The best landscape photographs are unique scenes or well-known locations photographed in a different way or under special or dramatic conditions. The enjoyment and value of your artwork is always increased when the landscape photography print is something unique and distinct from those of other photographers. I often spend several days at a location to find something unique or to wait for special conditions.

Who is Joseph C Filer?

I have been engaging in serious landscape and wildlife photography for over 15 years and have sold hundreds of fine art prints to collectors in the United States and other countries. I am constantly working to improve my creative vision while also pushing the boundaries of photographic technique. I strive to produce the highest quality possible in photographic prints by using the latest camera equipment and by sourcing the best printers and products in the industry.

Are There Stories Behind the Photographs?

Yes. I always want to share what I was thinking or feeling before taking the photograph. These behind-the-scenes stories allow you to connect with the artwork, resulting in the purchase being more personal to you.

What Styles of Photography Are Offered?

Different scenes call for a different approach. Each has its proper use, but an ultra-wide-angle photograph has a totally different feel than an image taken with mid-range or telephoto lenses.

Likewise, color photographs have a different impact from black and while photographs. Black and white photographs are known to have a very artistic look and feel. Abstract landscapes and Panoramic photography prints are offered to fit any room.

Why Do High Quality Images Matter?

Purchasing large prints with extreme detail requires the photograph to be taken with the best equipment and technique. Large Fine Art Prints cannot be made using cell phones or cheap cameras and lenses. I have always used the highest-resolution (with the most megapixels) digital cameras available, along with professional-level lenses that deliver the level of detail I insist on having. Proper technique, including the use of tripods, shutter delays, and long exposures, among other methods, yields the best image for reproduction.

What Styles of Prints are Offered?

We offer four styles of prints, each with its own advantages: All of my prints are limited edition prints with a maximum of 100 prints made of each image, regardless of style. By limiting the number of times each image is printed, its value is increased.

• The Lumachrome® HD Acrylic Print using TruLife® acrylic offers details that appear to emerge in 3D from the depths of the image along with brilliant colors, superior shadow luminosity & detail and a radiant glowing response under proper lighting.

• Chromaluxe® Metal Fine Art Prints will take on a magical luminescence when your images are on them. Colors are vibrant and the luminescence is breathtaking. Detail and resolution are unsurpassed for metal prints..

• Fujicolor Crystal Archive Pearl Fine Art Prints have pearl-like crystals that give silver halide color prints a specific luster, which is sure to capture your attention.

• Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta Prints are the best paper for Black and White prints. with an inkjet coating specially tailored for Fine Art use.

Do You Offer Custom Framing Options?

Yes. Adding a handmade Roma Moulding Italian wood frame to one of my Lumachrome® HD Trulife® Acrylic Prints is the ultimate in the presentation of a photographic print.

Your artwork will include a 4-inch wide Roma Tabacchino frame along with a 3-inch black or white linen liner. The frame and liner add 14 inches to both the horizontal and vertical dimensions of a print. For example, a 30 x 45 inch print will have framed dimensions of 44 x 59 inches.

How Do I Best Care For and Clean My Print?

First, keeping any artwork in an area of controlled temperature and humidity is of primary importance. Second, you would always want to keep direct sunlight off of any artwork, as it could cause fading of the colors in the print or frame.

The FujiColor paper prints are best matted and framed under glare-resistant glass. Just like the Chromaluxe Metal Prints, the glass or metal can be cleaned with a lint-free microfiber cloth and a soft cleaner such as Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Cleaners such as Windex work well.

According to the manufacturer's website, the Lumachrome® HD Trulife® Acrylic print should likewise be cleaned with a lint-free microfiber cloth and fragrance-free, dye-free mild dish detergent and distilled water solution. They advise against using glass cleaning sprays or acrylic cleaners.

Do You Work With Interior Designers?

Yes. Art consultants and interior designers have a passion and dedication to creating interiors for their clients that are timeless—ones that meet their clients’ needs and reflect their personal style.

As a fine art landscape and wildlife photographer, I have a passion for capturing the beauty and uniqueness of the landscape in front of me. I want to share this beauty with others, and I enjoy working with designers and decorators to create interiors for their clients that transform their rooms into the beautiful spaces they have always wanted.

How Is The Print Shipped and How Long Before I Receive It?

Pictured is a large TruLife Acrylic of "Sunset Rock" being crated and prepared for shipping. Your print will be packaged in a protective, professionally prepared shipping container. The type of container will be based on the size and weight of the artwork. Upon receipt, inspect the package and print for any damage. If damage is found, report it to me immediately, along with photos.

Shipping time is shown as 2 to 6 weeks. The Fujicolor Paper Prints will ship the fastest, while the large Lumachrome TruLife Acrylic Prints could take a full 4-6 weeks from the time the order is placed. I will provide the tracking information as soon as it is shipped.

What Is Your Return Policy For Damaged Prints?

All prints are custom-printed and not held in stock. As a result, once your payment is made, there are no refunds allowed. This is the norm in the custom fine art photography business. If a print arrives damaged, then it will be replaced at no cost to the collector. It is required that I be notified immediately so that the process of notifying the shipping company and replacing the print can be started without delay. If you have a question about a print that would affect its desirability for you, please ask about it BEFORE you order.
