Experienced In Panoramic Photography

I have spent many years in the field photographing landscapes and I am always on the hunt for a wide panoramic image. I believe I have developed a certain expertise in this form of photography. Not every situation fits being photographed as a panoramic scene, but when it does, the resulting print can be special to behold.

The subject may be mountains, deserts, canyons, trees, lakes and rivers, or it may be Southwest Colorado, the Grand Tetons, Bryce Canyon or one of many other locations.

What Makes It A Panoramic Photograph?

A standard photograph has a 3:2 ratio, which means it is one and a half times as wide as it is tall, such as 30 inches by 45 inches. A panoramic photograph is generally much wider than it is tall. This would be begin with 2:1 ratio prints that are twice as wide as they are tall, such as 30 inches by 60 inches.

The next step would be prints that have a 5:2 ratio, which are two and one-half times as wide as they are tall, such as 30 inches by 75 inches. These are my personal favorites. Lastly, there are prints that have a 3:1 ratio and are three times as wide as they are tall, such as 30 inches by 90 inches. It is possible to go even wider with a 4:1 ratio or more.

The Beauty of Panoramic Fine Art Prints

A panoramic style photography print is a common staple of many high-end photography galleries. They can certainly be more impressive hanging on your wall, but not every wall in your home may be right for a panoramic print.

We tend to see in a panoramic way due to our peripheral vision. Movies are filmed in panoramic style. So, we are accustomed to the wide-angle look. Your personal cell phone camera probably has a setting to scan the scene and take a panoramic photo.

Unfortunately, not every scene works for panoramic photography, but for those that do, they have the potential of making a stunning fine art print for the wall of your home or office. Please take a moment and look at the variety of pictures of mountains, deserts, canyons, trees and other scenes I offer as a panoramic fine art print. I'm sure you will find something that will fit your needs.

Why You Should Own A Fine Art Landscape Print

The $64 million dollar question is, of course, Why own a fine art landscape print?

I want you to imagine your home or office….. with bare walls. Nothing on them…. Just white or cream-colored walls. As you consider this, can you even imagine a world without art? The desire for art in our lives is evident even in small children – give them crayons and they will immediately begin to create their own artwork (hopefully not on your bare walls.)

There are many reasons to own a fine art landscape print but perhaps the most compelling reason is that artwork creates pleasure in your day-to-day life…… it touches the emotional side of you, inspires you, and can make the present moment more alive.

So, the reason to begin a collection of fine art landscape prints is to create a home or office space that is less sterile… where viewing beauty can create an atmosphere of peace and calmness…. and can, even momentarily, brighten your corner of the world.
