The Colorado River north of the Grand Canyon has this amazing U-shaped bend where the river makes a 180 degree change in direction.
The cliffs in this area are eroding, and have sheer drop-offs and I am not good with heights. I looked everywhere and found one spot, sitting on a secure rock where I could place the tripod at its lowest height, close to the edge and capture the photograph with a wide angle lens.
It took a number of hikes out to this location to determine the best time of day to be there to avoid shadows on the walls of the canyon. There are some other possibilities I would like to explore there so I guess we'll just have to go back again someday.
