Rhodies of Roan
Roan Mountain, Tennessee
A Limited Edition, Fine Art photograph of Roan Mountain, Tennessee with an incredible sunset sky over the rhododendrons blooming on the hills. Available as a Fine Art print, Metal print or Acrylic print.
Every June the rhododendrons on the slopes in the Roan Mountain area bloom. We had been wanting to shoot this scene for several years, but other locations always seemed to take priority.
When I got there, I set off for where they are shot from not knowing exactly where that was. It turned out to be several miles up and over one of the foothills and I got there just in time for the sunset.
I can't say how happy I was that after a long hike that I had such a great sunset. For once, one hike did the trick.
