I had been chasing clouds during monsoon season in Arizona and southern Utah without much success. I made a decision to be at this spot in the desert near Factory Butte for sunrise and hope for the best. I was rewarded with a storm in the distance over the mountain that lit up from the sun rising in the east, which also lit up the canyon floor and walls. It was the highlight of my week-long effort. I could go back there again and again, just because it is so cool, but I doubt I would ever get a better image.
