For good reason, a very popular spot for sunrise is Cadillac Mountain. The view east is over Bar Harbor and the islands that lie within.
Of the many mornings I made this attempt, this was the one that the sunrise displayed it's glory. When you doubt why you are there in the dark at 4:30 am in the summer, all doubt goes away on days like this.
There are not too many better places to absorb the clean feeling of a new day.
