Wahclella Falls
Columbia Gorge, Oregon
A Limited Edition, Fine Art photograph of Wahclella Falls in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. Available as a Fine Art print, Metal Print or Acrylic print.
Many of the roads to the trails to waterfalls had been closed just days before due to a massive mudslide. With Wahclella open and still on my list, it was an easy decision to make the dawn hike out the 1 mile to it. Just before the falls, the trail was blocked with a huge pile of logs. I didn't know if they were from the recent storms or had always been there.
With my camera gear in my backpack, I carefully crawled over the logs. I didn't need to get hurt somewhere out of cell phone range. At first, I was disappointed by the logs in the pool beneath the falls, but upon reviewing photos, I really liked the way they added to the scene. As the saying goes, first impressions are not always right. It was a difficult, but fun morning.
